# What happens to alerts when a gateway goes offline?

While a gateway is offline, you will not receive alerts that rely on data from FarmRoad Sensors connected to that gateway.

This affects:

* Alerts configured to use only data from FarmRoad Sensors connected to the offline gateway.
* Alerts configured for a sector or crop where the selected measurement is supplied only by Folium devices connected to the offline gateway.

Alerts which are configured for a crop or sector that use a measurement type that has multiple data sources will continue to receive alerts, provided at least one of those data sources is still operational.

### Actions to resolve:

This issue will be resolved when the gateway comes back online. Please see gateway support.
